The Producer’s Report #117 – Production Day 23
Jun 2010 26

(Michael Donovan and Ian Hubert, photography by Barry Gregg)

Yesterday, we completed a pickup shoot, our Day 23 of production. Michael Donovan (Arizona) and Jen Page (Xing Xing Fix) performed in new scenes that will appear in the first act of the movie. Many thanks to Barry Gregg (DP), Dave Hutchinson (1st AC), Nathaniel Peirson (Grip), and Michael Hayes (Sound) for their time and talent. We will post a collection of photos from the shoot sometime soon.

In other news…

The Sound Design Team, under the leadership of Mike Meyer and Simon Jeker, is working to develop the fundamental elements of what we are calling, “signature sounds” for things like the Joint Command Fleet, the Arizona Exosuit and quite a number of other things.

We are still looking for the voice of Oma. Check out the Craigslist ad if you are interested in auditioning for this character. Casting and recording Oma is something we want to do as soon as possible so we can complete our version 14 of Project London and screen it for select local filmmakers, a target audience focus group, and the Sound Design Team.

The edit system is on the mend, this week it will be rebuilt with an upgrade to Windows 7 Pro, along with a move from RAID 0 to RAID 5, and we’re going to put an extra 2TB HD on the shelf as insurance against another HD failure. Turns out the culprit for the system crash was a bad 2TB HD. Our friends at Media Tools have provided terrific support, helping us troubleshoot the problem, providing quick warranty repair and parts for the move to RAID 5.

We hope you are having a great day today!
