The Producer’s Report #76 – Amazing Shots Completed!
Jul 2009 01

Scott Gwin joined us for the first half of our meeting to review our post-production work flow and talk about 3:2 pulldown (thanks Scott!). He also got to see a large collection of newly completed visual effects shots go into the timeline. Ian and company are creating epic images and we continue to be excited and amazed by what we are seeing.

Status of Visual Effects (VFX) Shots:
Number remaining: 147
Number in progress: 5
Number completed: 449

Doom: 2i (upper field first)
(calculated by Ian)

Projected date for completion of all VFX:
28 February 2010 (based on projected time estimates of all tasks)
4 January 2010 (based on spreadsheet items completed per week)

This week’s recommendations:
Ian: “Henry Weinhard Rootbeer with French Vanilla Ice Cream in a mug”
Jen: “Charlie Wilson’s War” a brilliantly written screenplay by Aaron Sorkin.
Veggie: “Brad Senne” a musician that tends to make calm acoustic guitar music. Another independent artist and you can get his music on magnatune.com.
Nathan: “Supermassive Black Hole” by Muse. This could be the only thing besides our movie that will eat your planet.
Phil: “Seven of Sundays” by Curt Smith. Curt did this on a solo outing from Tears for Fears. It’s a beautiful song with a sweet lilting melody and a hint of melancholy; perfect for hot summer evenings when you are ready to chill.

Cheers,
