The Producer’s Report #155 | Final Audio Mix Happening Now
Jun 2012 24

(L to R: Wes and Kyle mixing in Room D at Clatter & Din)

I’m writing this while sitting in the studio at Clatter & Din with Kyle Kramer and Wesley Slover as they work to finalize the soundtrack mix for Project London. This is easily one of my most favorite parts of filmmaking because you get to see and hear it all come together. Right now Wes and Kyle are dialing in the bottom end. This sci-fi actioner has lots if hits, impacts and explosions. In fact, the guys just set sub-woofer levels for the opening battle at Benny’s Fuel & Repair to deliver some SERIOUS THUMP–you will feel it like a smack to your solar plexus!

It’s been awhile since we talked. Sorry about that. We’ve been immensely busy, dealing with crashed edit systems and laptops, ramping up color correction and the final work on the soundtrack. And today, I’m really pleased to say that we are making great progress to finish the movie!

On the color correction side of things, Barry Gregg…

The Producer’s Report #153 | Moving Forward Again!

The edit system is working again! I’ve output uncompressed AVI files for Barry Gregg and will be meeting him at Starbucks in Edmonds (Washington, USA) in a couple hours to hand him a 2TB hard drive with the movie, Spiral’s Blackmagic Design Ultrascope, and our best wishes for a efficient and fun color correction. Yeah! Big step.

The Producer’s Report #152<br/>Edit System Crash Part 2
Feb 2012 27

Dang nab it. We were chugging along and then crash. The little battery on the edit system motherboard needed replacing, so I replaced it. But in the process of removing and replacing the Blackmagic card to gain access and replace the little battery, the card was fried. So dang. We have a replacement Blackmagic card on order. It should be here…

The Triumvirate dined with Kevin Slover last night at Racha Thai Cuisine in Woodinville. It was a delicious evening and it was great getting to know Kevin. His nephew, Wes (soundtrack composer) joined us and our wide ranging conversation touched on the genesis of Project London, and popular audiophile formats (vinyl!) and gear from the 70s. Kevin, we thank you for your support and encouragement as we wrap up post-production. Speaking of wrapping up, we are preparing for a screening in order to…

Half Acre Day is the band that never sleeps releasing a slew of beautiful songs in their Lunar Singles collection as well as creating an exclusive new song, Pythagoras Switch, for Project London. The song premiered at the recent Seattle Interactive Conference, Battle of the Geek Bands competition where Sir Mix-A-Lot, one of the celebrity judges, commented enthusiastically about the song and the band.

We’re sharing this bit of the song with you now in hopes that it will inspire you to help us finish the movie. We have two major hurdles to overcome—color correction and sound design and mixing. Our IndieGoGo.com campaign is almost over and we haven’t hit our goal by a long shot. That said, we are undaunted. We will press on and we sure hope you will help us with a donation and/or sharing links to the campaign everywhere on Facebook and Twitter.
