Interview: Trevor Dutton
Sep 2011 02

What is your name?
My mom calls me “Sonny James”. Friends call me “T Dutty”. My wife calls me “Manservant”. “Trevor L. Dutton” is written on my birth certificate. I prefer going by “His Royal Excellence” but that’s been a hard nickname to get to stick. (Too many syllables methinks . . . and a lack of verifiable credentials)

How old are you and why?
Thirty eight, because thirty eight years ago my parents made sweet, passionate, irresponsible love. (Hey, ask a silly question . . . get a crass answer. Right?)

What got you started in film work?
What makes you think I’ve already started?

What are you working on in the movie?
Sound design – primarily the ‘Potential’ signature sounds. I’ve also done a bunch of other elements like what I’m calling ‘high tech’ tidbits, which are super future-y things like satellite point-of-view shots, holographic display sounds, robot and vehicle ‘character’ layers, that sort of ilk. That and loads of random snippets for other things that I happened to stumble upon along the way.

What are your favorite movies?
Some influential ones were Aliens, Saving Privater Ryan, Tron (original), LOTR, Jacob’s Ladder, What Dreams May Come, The Usual Suspects, Blade Runner. Among the lesser known non-mainstream ones are Delicatessen, Donnie Darko, Akira, Requiem for a Dream, Top Secret, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. I do also like me some Will Ferrell, anything Pixar, and a host of documentaries and stand-up comics.

What would your mom say about Project London, the movie?
She wouldn’t say anything about it since I haven’t told her about it after signing the PL nondisclosure agreement. RIGHT? *knowing wink*

What super power would you choose and why?
Time expansion. So that I could continue to be a father/husband/small business owner, yet still have infinite hours to devote to FUN things like PL.

What super power do you actually have?
Time evaporation.

What are your favorite bands and/or albums?
Oh, man. Let’s just say I’m a music aficionado and leave it at that. Among my top tier are: Depeche Mode, Primus, Mozart, Legendary Pink Dots, Phish, Stanley Clarke, Skinny Puppy, Victor Wooten, John McClaughlin, Imogen Heap, De/Vision, Robert Fripp, Combustible Edison, Jupe Jupe, Marilyn Manson. Pretty much anything with a synthesizer in it . . . pretty much nothing with an accordion in it!

If there were tigers roaming the streets and you had to defend yourself, what weapon would you choose?
Being a pacifist (read: coward) I would choose to rely on the slowest person in my company to occupy said tigers.

What would you like to tell us about yourself that we didn’t ask?
I’d like to take this opportunity for a shameless self promotional plug: studiowormbone.com

What question are you glad we didn’t ask?
What’s the meaning of life and everything and stuff?

Interview: Brendan Hogan
Sep 2011 09

What is your name?
Brendan J. Hogan. Don’t forget the J. The J is important.

How old are you and why?
19. Because I’m a liar.

What got you started in film work?
I started doing radio plays at a community radio station years ago. When my wife went back to school and I was working at miserable dead end job I decided I wanted to go back to school as well. I got a degree in audio engineering, interned at an awesome studio, and started doing freelance audio post production work. I’ve been working steadily for several years now and have just started thinking about doing another radio play.

What are you working on in the movie?
Whatever Ian tells me to do. So far I’ve done the audio for the Boulderwake ship, satellite lasers and Arizona’s footsteps. Is that all? Seems like more.

What are your favorite movies?
Gosh lets see…what will make me sound cool? Moody mysterious stuff like Mulholland Dr., Bladerunner, Donnie Darko as well as indie stuff with interesting characters like The Visitor, Marwencol, Breach.

What would your mom say about Project London, the movie?
She would absolutely love all the parts I did. Get your own mom to like the rest of it.

What super powers would you choose and why?
Ghandification. The world could use more people like him.

What super power do you actually have?
The ability to spiral into paralytic loops of self-reflective meta consciousness.

What are your favorite bands and/or albums?
My music tastes are very situation specific. I still love Paul Simon’s “Rhythm of the Saints” album. Nothing like it. Also, anything by the Tin Hat Trio.

If there were tigers roaming the streets and you had to defend yourself, what weapon would you choose?
Cesar Millan

What would you like to tell us about yourself that we didn’t ask?
I’m awesome.

What question are you glad we didn’t ask?
How are you so awesome? That’s a trade secret.

The release of the Sneak Peek Scene kicks off our campaign asking you and everyone for help to finish Project London. There is flexibility around how much to pay for the Sneak Peek, we are suggesting a contribution of $1.95 (USD) with the option to give a different amount if you like.
